Hold your horses!

You may have read my March Madness post a few days ago, and thought, "How nice! It's warming up there on the tundra." And then perhaps you went and crossed "Those poor people who are freezing on the tundra" off your prayer list. Let's not be hasty.

Yesterday a huge flock of migrating robins and waxwings lit in our crabapple tree.  It was a stunning sight! They were singing away and eating to their hearts' content.

Today they stopped by again. It was 2ºF. This is what they got.

Popsicles. Or is that Crabsicles? Let's just say that whatever it was, they were not singing about it.

We natives know that spring never truly shows up on the tundra before it shows up on the calendar.  And even then, we do not hold our breath.

I'm ready for spring! Do you think we can get a petition together and submit it to God? Oh, wait... He doesn't work that way does He. :)

On the off chance that He might change his methods, I'm totally willing to give it a try! :-)

Lovely pictures! I'm almost missing being there to see crabapple trees! But it's cold enough here that I just had to go back upstairs and get a sweater on...

Watching these birds has made me think of you, Mary. I couldn't get a decent picture through a screened window, but it really has been a sight. It is feeding time again right now, and they seem to be having better luck today--still frozen but the ice droplets are gone.

Are you serious? I can't believe it's still that cold and you have ice. I won't even tell you what our weather is like here. You certainly don't want to know.
I'll put you freezing tundra people back on the prayer list!

Awe, so sorry it got that cold again. I would love to send you some of our heat! We still have to spare!

The ice on the trees look like frozen teardrops.

Boohoo the freeze is back.

I'm sure you're probably sick and tired of the white stuff by now, but as a Cali girl who practically NEVER sees this stuff, I find great, overwhelming beauty in your photos. There's just something about snow that makes skies bluer and crabsicles redder. :-)

Gorgeous shots, Tracy.

Spring's been teasing us too, but at least the ice is gone.

Crazy weather. We had snow on Monday and were freezing and now we're going to be 65 tomorrow!
