Treat

DSC_0540

Photo 52, Week 43:  Treat

I made a monster cookie treat for my kids who are headed off on a youth retreat this weekend.
Both of them.  Gone.

So inexperienced am I at sending my kids away
that this morning I never even THOUGHT about gathering Bethany's emergency meds to have ready.
After documenting about them extensively on the permission forms only a few days ago.  Mom fail.
(Well, except for the making cookies part.)
The situation was quickly remedied.  Thankfully.

So now Mom and Dad get a date night.  Bonus treat!

While we are on the topic of treats,

Jack Frost came for a visit this week.

and sparkly.

Getting out and noticing before it all burned off for the day was truly a treat.

I am looking forward to trying a trick for next week.  I have a couple of ideas up my sleeve:
Spooky Light Painting
(I was slightly less than successful with this one last year),
Which would you choose?

Photo 52 Fall Photo Walk

DSC_0036

Fall in the Twin Cities is glorious.
It seemed imperative that we organize a photo walk for Photo 52.
Fall is a busy season, but how could we not find a way?

DSC_0017

Thankfully Heather is game to try anything.  AND she knows her way around town.

DSC_0033

So she suggested St. Anthony Main, with the famous Stone Arch Bridge.
We met for lunch, and braved the rain afterward.

Many discovered something new about our city.

DSC_0380

You know what I most often discover?

1404649_10151730176852514_480685011_o

The creativity of God,

DSC_0010

and the resourcefulness of people.
I love that.

Why do I do Photo 52?
In hopes that people will discover the beauty of creation
and love the Creator more.

Photography is so therapeutic,
but the power is in discovering what has been there all along.
