January Thaw

Look at this! Our January thaw came today, just in the nick of time.  Of course we would never consider just ONE day above freezing an actual January thaw, but nobody here dares to complain.  It came on a Saturday, so that's something.

We got the itch to head for the hills...

...how could we resist?

At the bottom there was a friendly little snowball fight...

...and a (very) little snowman building.

Can you guess what this is and where it came from?

That looks like a perfect hill for sledding. Your snow still looks all pretty and white. Glad to hear it got one degree above freezing.
I have no idea where I that long came from.
I understand you couldn't fit in a trip to Houston today. I figured I'd throw it out there. But it was 69 degrees and blue skies. That would have been a great thaw for you.
Glad ya'll had fun in the snow.

We still have not gotten a good snow, we almost had one. Today it was so nice, we didn't even need jackets, even late tonight it was still very warm. Scary!

Aysha might never get to make a snow angel. She is getting so frustrated about that.

Superior Snaps, one and all! We're supposed to get temps in the 50s today, and snow tomorrow nite. Go figure. BTW, 2 things: Don't forget today's Silly Sunday Sweepstakes. AND, please come over to my place to vote for the Hubz, Mr. Fairway. Thanks!

We have a winner! Yes, that big icicle came from from the downspout actually, but I'll give credit for gutter. You can see the end of it on the top picture--that's what's sticking out.

Gotta love those days that are FINALLY warm enough to head outside and have hours of fun, right? Gotta love that ice log! I'm surprised no one played baseball with a snowball!

And before I forget. Thanks for coming to visit me last Thursday on my SITS day. Sorry it's taken me so long to get back. I've visited more blogs in the past few days than I ever have before! I really appreciate all the comments and fun. I hope you enjoyed yourself and come back to visit again soon!

That icicle is a weapon! I have never seen anything like it...and right now I am envious of your snow. We have only had three inches all year which is way below our average. WE are praying for a storm so we can sled like that....sigh...

Love the pics though...they are so adorable...especially the one of the kids on the tube...
