First of all, it's boxing. Just plain ol' gratuitous violence. Here's my boy, slugging the daylights out of his opponent.
Wait, though. Here's his opponent.
His opponent's name is Emma. His opponent is a GIRL. My boy is pounding a GIRL.
Here are some of his other opponents:
Are you thinking what I'm thinking? I'm wondering why my boy has all these people to beat up. All these people who are obviously so different from him. And not ONE that looks anything like him. Is he learning to take his frustrations out on anyone who is ethnically and racially different?
OK. Maybe I'm overanalyzing it. But I'm wondering, would YOU let YOUR kid play Wii boxing?
AND, would you want to tell these kids they can't?
I didn't think so. Enough about that.
Now, Wii bowling on the other hand...

Good times.

Wii boxing hurts my arms...
Nice job on the bowling score. I've never broken 200 :(
I hope Dave steps up to comment on this... I find it disturbing when we have two girls boxing one another... and when uncles are boxing against 4th grade girls... but when two guys are boxing one another or their dad, it seems like they are having a lot of fun! I don't have any clear thoughts of right or wrong here, just my personal opinion that girls boxing is somehow not-quite-right!
We have not played boxing . . . We do the bowling thing more and my 5 year old takes us all to bowling school!!
Knockout.
Let me know when you figure it all out.
I've been tempted by the Wii since I found out there is a Boggle game. That's more my speed.
Mary brings up a good point. We only have one nunchuck (sp?), so we can't box against each other. We use the opponents randomly assigned to us. So would I actually pay money to get another one so Ben can beat up on Bethany's mii (or vice versa), or so that they can beat up on each other? That's another whole level!
I can't even break 100 in real bowling. Surely I can beat you in Wii bowling.
My girls don't play the boxing one that I know of. I'm not sure if we have it. We got it last year.
I have played the bowling and the golf one. They are fun.
They are definitely burning some energy though. Probably will come in handy on those snowy days.
I'm not sure if it was boxing or the latest dance move. :) They are cute. So intense.
About that book. I'm like you, I keep a few books going all the time and seem to never finish any of them. I'm proud of my self for finishing Same Kind of Different. I really had to. It was different than other books.
Buster could not understand me over on the couch bawling away as I read. He's like "you don't even know those people". I know, but what can I say.

I kind of poo-pooed boxing for a while...until today. I discovered how fun the training sessions of boxing are. Hopefully it will help me hone my skills. We too only have one nunchuk, so we can't beat each other up and I like that.
Wii really brings a family together doesn't it?
I don't have Wii but have watched my son and his daughter play the bowling game and the tennis game and they loved it. The boxing - I'm thinking I wouldn't care for that! blessings, marlene
Years ago, I saw my husband playing wrestling or boxing on his X-box. The girl characters were funnier and made girly punching noises, so that's who he'd chosen to be.
The kids really want us to get a Wii. But I think I might ban the boxing part. I so don't understand gratuitous violence! BTW, your Little Guy is a star in his own "informercial" over at my place today. Thanks so much for helping out!
Mr. Fairway is Anti-Wii. I might have to sneak one past him and install it in the basement! Hey, I saw your guy over at Veggie's today...what a natural! And BTW, don't forget Sx3 tomorrow...it's a 3-parter!
I agree. I just don't like violence.
