Fruitful

DSC_0333

My friend Peggy invited us to her farm.

DSC_0457

You may have seen it with me before.

DSC_0464

We actually have sort of a standing invitation.

She is gracious like that.

Plus she likes that I notice all the beautiful things.

DSC_0552

Because there is other stuff around her too.
Isn't it like that for all of us?

The kids love going to visit her family.

DSC_0334

There is so much life there.

When I saw these tomatoes, it hit me what this post would be called.
(And I still remembered a month later, now that I am sitting down to write it!)

Jesus said, "This is to my Father's glory,

that you bear much fruit,

showing yourselves to be my disciples."
John 15:8

DSC_0554

Everything about Peggy's life is fruitful.

DSC_0614

Her family.  Her gardens.  Her home.  Her kitchen.

DSC_0618

Her life at church.  Her life in her community.

DSC_0625

She might be quick to say not everything in her life is fruitful.  But still.

DSC_0353 - Version 2

She lives life to her Father's glory.
She inspires me to do the same.

"Let us not become weary in doing good,
for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
Galatians 6:9

Beautiful, everything! Pictures, subject, words.

I'd be interested to know what your aperture was for the pic of the beans? Different to the one with Bethany and the eggs? Different again to the cow and calf? I liked that the cow and calf had recognisable corn in the background instead of bokeh - I might have been tempted towards bokeh myself and missed the lovely farm-feel of the corn. If, you know, I had my camera handy on a farm, which is tricky.

Actually, since little Timothy was born, I've had my camera out a lot! I've been mainly inspired by your encouraging comment on my post announcing his birth! Thankyou, dear friend.

You captured it once again - the beauty I tend to look past that sits right before my eyes each day. Last night a pastor who grew up in Kenya was out visiting the missionary family who is staying with us temporarily, and he commented on how much our farm felt like home to him. I have to admit many people tell me our place exudes the feelings of home or of their grandmother's home. Of course I tend to be so busy most of the time doing all that needs to be done on the farm that I fail to appreciate the home I have been given to live in and the magnificent beauty that surrounds me each day. Thank you for sharing your gift and for providing me with pictures to encourage me on those days I have a hard time seeing beyond what is right before my eyes.

What a lovely post, and beautiful images of God's gifts. You and your 50mm are getting along just beautifully.

Ha, Kate (a.k.a. GdE), I LOVE that you ask that question as though I know what I'm doing! This was one of the first outings with my 50mm. I tried an explanation in the comments, but I think I might just attempt a better one in a separate post. Because fools rush in where angels fear to tread.

I love your post and each picture is like being there of your photography. I love photography myself but yours is so clear and really interesting.

I love the animals also. My sister and hubby had a dairy farm but sold it to her son and he works it now.

My sister and her hubby have passed on . Her other oldest son died very young. So the young son has the farm now.And wife and children enjoy the farm like my sister did and hubby and his brother.
