It was tough to come down from the mountaintop.
Thankfully, we were not heading home, but to the beautiful Colorado Springs.
A bit exhausted, I might add.
So we spent the first day in our new location
renewing our energy and
seeking a little inspiration.
We had been completely inspired by God's glorious creation throughout the trip,
but on this day, we were also inspired by our fellow man.
Our first stop was the United States Air Force Academy.
Campus was quiet, but we saw a few of the freshmen running briskly from place to place
as they must during orientation.
Ben just ate up all of Lee's knowledge about military planes.
We then moved on to the Olympic Training Center
which was also quiet because everyone who wasn't participating in the Olympics
was watching them.
Lee and Ben made the torch run.
(cue the music)
They only have the cauldron lit during the actual games,
so we barely made it in time.
Lee and Ben tried out the bobsleds,
while Bethany tested her strength.
(Interesting technique with your fingers there, Bethany.)
Meanwhile, I was inspired by all the quotes and memorabilia.
That makes me want to go watch Miracle On Ice.
Love that story!
