Blue

Photo 52, Week 38:  Pick a color

DSC_0516

I've been pretty smitten with the beautiful blue skies of the changing season.

The clouds themselves appear to be using them as a dance floor.

It only made sense that the week I had settled on blue as my color of choice
was the week I also got the call that my sweet grandma passed away.
So blue colored my inner world for a time as well.

Grandma was 95, and ready, she said at last, to go to Heaven with a smile on her face.

Truly, it was time, as she had suffered much.

And so it was, that we buried her beside Grandpa.
Wouldn't you know the frugal Norwegians picked the section of the cemetery
with no fancy tombstones, but with a nice view of the lake?

Grandma and Bethany

Rest in peace Grandma!
May we all learn as you have taught us
to meet whatever challenges life brings our way
with courage, resourcefulness, endurance, and a sense of humor.
We love you!

Beautiful photos, beautiful blues, and beautiful gramma!! So sorry to hear of your loss! I know that even when we know it was time for them, it always feels too soon for us... Love and hugs!!

A beautiful Grandma! I lost mine recently too.

When I started with Photo 52, I was hoping there would be a colour theme because I was busting to do blue! I wanted to paint my toenails a shocking electric blue and photograph them on the green grass or in the sand at the shore or something. Unfortunately my nails were short and my camera was lost. Fail.

And by "Lost" I simply mean it's under a pile of papers here somewhere ... and when I find it, I'll have to charge the battery, and where the heck is the charger?

Sorry about previous comment I deleted - I double-clicked the submit button and it posted twice.

I love blue too.

I really love Grandmas. I am so glad God gave yours to you for so many years. That is wonderful.

I'll take a nice view over a fancy tombstone every day of the week ;-). Goodbyes are hard. I'm glad we have heavenly hellos to look forward to!
