If you've been around here for any length of time,
you know that Ben is a Tigers fan
and that we go cheer against the home town team
at least once a year when the Tigers come to town to play the Twins.
Not that we're not Twins fans.
But let's face it.
The Twins were at the bottom of the standings.
The Tigers just needed two more wins to make it to the playoffs,
but they only had a few more days.
So there we all were, cheering for the Tigers. On pins and needles.
In fairness, we totally suspected this would happen
when we bought our tickets in May.
It's been a great year for Tigers fans.
Justin Verlander's pitching has been unbeatable.
Miguel Cabrera helped secure the "Triple Crown" in batting with his homer at this game.
Epic. Truly.
The first in 45 years.
The Tigers led the whole game.
People started going home.
And then, there was a grand slam by the Twins that changed everything.
And after that, Joe Mauer, the hometown hero, came to the plate as the potential go ahead run.
He swung, he hit it hard, aaaaannd....
...he's out. Have a seat, Joe.
Thanks for the fun, exciting win, Tigers!
Hope to see you in the World Series!
