I posted this a few years back, but I still love it. So you get to see it again, with new pictures.
Following Jesus
is like being a pumpkin.
He picks you from the patch,
brings you in,
and washes all the dirt off you.
Then he cuts off the top
and scoops out all the yucky stuff.
He removes the seeds
of doubt, greed, and selfishness.
Then he carves you a new smiling face, and puts His light inside you
to shine for all the world to see!
"If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;
the old is gone, the new has come!
All this is from God
who reconciled us to himself
through Christ."
2 Corinthians 5:17-18

Awesome post! Thank you for sharing. Hugs, Bobbi Jo
I love this! I also loved your Halloween post from 2008 so much that I used your wonderful idea and handed out bags of candy to "trickle-treaters" as Jessie calls them with the words of Jesus on the front of the bag. I shared this idea on Facebook and attributed it to "my friend Tracy from Minnesota" because I LOVE your take on Halloween!
That's really clever - what what a gorgeous pumpkin outing!
So glad you could use it, Kate. I got to tell the story using the actual pumpkin last night at church, since the regular Wednesday church activities for kids coincided with Halloween this year. I've noticed my older kids are a little self-conscious of our unusual treat giving now, so the years for those may have passed. Also, the outing took about 3.6 minutes. :-) But it was fun!
Lovely!!
