Turkeys got you down?

What do you do when the turkeys come knocking at your door?
(Or your neighbor's door.)

I just did what came naturally. Got my camera...

...and started shooting.

They got the message.

They high-tailed it right on outta there.

You know what they say:
"It's hard to soar with the eagles
when you're surrounded by turkeys."

BUT...

"Those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint."
Isaiah 40:31

You're like the paparazzi for turkeys. I love that they ran away like a bunch of celebs without makeup.

I read another blog recently where turkeys had come up in the yard. I'm wondering if there isn't enough food for them this summer...or water? Aren't they wonderful to watch! blessings, marlene

I think turkey freezes just fine for 3 months...

I would have immediately thought Thanksgiving. But you were so sweet to only shoot with your camera. That is amazing. I don't see turkeys roaming like that here.
Their feathers are so pretty.

Actually, I am willing to pay to have my turkey decapitated and plucked for me. Plus, this is a hen and this year's brood. They are not big enough yet. I would have to have three of them. Too much work. :-)

So funny! I've never seen so many turkeys in one place. Alive, that is.

Aren't they the goofiest birds? They run rampant thru my Mom's neighborhood, also. Even around T-day ... and they're big and fat and not-so-fast and kinda dumb ... and totally "protected" (nevermind that they're completely, not remotely "endangered").

That is simply a beautiful sight! Thanks so much for sharing.

I think I'm on my way back to blogging and catching up on my fave blogs - and stopping by here today has been yet another reminder of why I started blogging in the first place. There are so many of you who are at the top of my "check on" list and you've all done a great job at inspiring me today and reminding me why I blog. So, for that, (and many other things) thanks!!!
