Lessons from my garden: Stages

This lantana is my favorite plant of the year. I am amazed by each of its beautiful stages. It reminds me of the people who are some of my heroes. They are the ones who have been through the cycle of parenting babies to adults and can still say, "Every stage was my favorite!" So far, it's true for me (both about parenting and about these flowers), and I pray that when my kids are grown and gone, I will have appreciated each one of the stages of their lives for its full beauty.

Right now I'm just thankful that even though they're getting so grown-up,
they're not too cool to have their picture taken with Pablo. Life is good!

Wow, your garden is amazing.

I see you were at MOA recently - my kiddos love it there, though we haven't been there in nearly a year - and they are certainly not too cool to get their picture with a Pablo-ish character :)

Great photo.

Love his Atlanta Braves shirt.

I, too am trying to enjoy every stage. One day at a time. So far the pre-teen and early teen years are ok. Not like some stories I've heard. I pray they stay that way.
B & B have grown so much even since I started reading your blog.
It's fun watching them grow.

Lantana? Huh. I wouldn't have guessed. Here in Aus, the lantana has purple flowers and is wild, spiky and a terrible pest. I'd be hunted down by half the population of Australia if I dared to cultivate it. But I love yours and its beautiful flowers.

I love people who have the attitude that every stage was their favourite - even the hard stages. So many people whine and moan about how HARD kids are and blah blah blah, you can't utter anything honest about nappies (diapers) or sleeplessness because they say, "Just you WAIT til they're teenagers" and they go on moaning about that.

Sure, it's not always easy. But children are a blessing from the Lord. And I love hanging out with people who understand that!

I was just talking 'bout the stages with a friend the other day. I have liked my kids more and more as they have gotten older.
