Postcards from Paradise

It seems to me that my blog has become a place for me to send a postcard from the paradise of the day or week this summer. How blessed am I!

This past weekend I flew to Miami with my sister and nephew to attend the wedding of my brother's oldest son. Why is it that a wedding drives home the reality of passing the torch to another generation? It's not that they weren't beginning to carry it for themselves...well, several years ago. I'm so happy for Danny and Leah, and continue to be so proud of all the nieces and nephews on both sides of our family. They are such great role models for their little cousins, and God is using them in mighty ways. They are people of influence and impact, and to me they are the evidence of a future filled with the hope that God has promised since the beginning of time.

In case you are in need of a little getaway, here are some photos of the beach and the beautiful, serene monastery where the wedding and reception took place. A little slice of heaven.

Stop! This is killing me. Here it's winter, windy, cold and miserable. I am having regrets about giving birth to a baby now, and committing him/her to a life of birthdays in the Miserable Australian July.

Maybe this child will grow up, move to Miami, get married and have many happy-ever-afters.

Sob. And this poor lonely mother will have nobody to blame but herself, for conceiving in November.

Sorry. Pregnancy hormones took over for a minute there. Your holiday looks WONDERFUL! Wish I was there.

WOW! Are you sure this wasn't heaven? Did you actually see Jesus?

I bet that wedding was spectacular - your pictures surely are. Best wishes to the bride and groom.

Oh Tracy, I can just let this slideshow play all day. It is absolutely goregeous and what an amazing place for a wedding. How in the world did they ever find it. Glad you got to get away and get some sand between your toes and see your family. All of the pictures are beautiful. Makes me want to be there.

It's been so long since I've been to the beach for a vacation - I used to go every year and sometimes twice a year. I miss the sea. I can't think of a more beautiful place to have a wedding than that monastery - how lovely. blessings, marlene
