So I made it to 50. It was a mountaintop experience. Literally.
I could not have asked for a more incredible way to celebrate than a trip to Colorado with my family!
My gift (well, one of them) was a 50mm lens--the "Nifty Fifty" I have been waiting for. A fitting gift, no?
It is very different to use, so I am going to have fun learning this fall!
I am hoping to share some photos and stories from our trip, but there are the more pressing matters of organizing for school and fall at the moment. And making pancakes for breakfast, because there aren't too many more lazy mornings left. So we will see. In the meantime, a few photo favorites.

Don't worry Cathy, I recognized your handwriting! ;-) You should just start a profile. You don't have to have a blog. But you could! :-)
Happy Birthday Tracy! I have enjoyed sharing the last few years with you! You are rocking that new lens too!
Wonderful pics as usual Tracy - and Happy Birthday! Where in Colorado were you? We're going back to Estes Park in September. That's an annual trip for us. I love going then to hear the elk bugling and see the Aspens. blessings, marlene
YAY!!! I'm so happy for you!! A 50mm for your 50th - fitting, indeed! I think you'll find that the aperture capability on the 50mm will bust your photography skills into a whole new level of wonderfulness. Your CO trip looks amazing - I hope you'll be sharing more pictures (I know you probably took a *few* - grin!) Oh, and Happy Belated Bday!! You wear 50 very well, m'dear. :-)
Happy Birthday to one of my favorite girls : )
