The first stay on our itinerary was the lovely Estes Park, Colorado.
It came highly recommended by several friends
(did I tell you I used Facebook as my travel agent??),
and we were NOT disappointed!
Quaint and beautiful,
fresh air, mountains, water.
Home of the famous Stanley Hotel,
multitudes of ice cream shops,
and flowers everywhere!
It's not every time you have a view from your camping cabin,
but we sure did this time.
Plus mini-golf
and swimming
because what vacation would be complete without those?
Yogi showed up for flag raising
and it turned out he liked to help people style their hair for the day.
We even had a resident ground squirrel named Pretzel.
Perfect!
But the best part about Estes Park is that it's the gateway
to Rocky Mountain National Park.
Stay tuned!

what a wonderful, wonderful family vacation. In your 2nd shot of the Blue Bell Ice Cream sign...sigh, I love Blue Bell Ice Cream and we do not have it here. Do me a favor and have a Blue Bell Ice Cream while you are there and think of me.
And I'll be there in two weeks! I'm so sorry we weren't there at the same time - what fun that would have been. :) blessings, marlene
That WOULD have been fun, Marlene!!
