These friends will be coming by from one of my own favorite destinations: "The Secret is in the Sauce", aka "SITS". This smashingly successful online community is the brainchild of Heather and Tiffany, and it is obviously meeting the needs of hundreds of people who need a place to belong. Kind of like going to "Cheers" when you don't happen to have the freedom to leave your house everyday for a few hours to get together with your buddies. Very cool.
So welcome, everyone, to The Journey. I feel a little like Forrest Gump, welcoming this amazingly diverse group of visitors to travel the road with me for a piece. Really, it belongs to all of us.
But since I have you with me, I'd love to know what some of YOUR favorite destinations have been, or where you'd like to go next. (And remember, not all destinations are geographic.) Feel free to share your answer in the comments!
And whether your journey has you on a mountaintop, in a valley, on a racetrack, at a rest stop, a road block, or a construction zone, I hope you find a blessing here. I'm so glad you stopped by, and I hope you'll come back soon.
SITS Girls: Here are links to the day's sightseeing stops to make it easier for you.
Congrats on your SITS day! Enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI'm expecting my first child, so that's the incredible journey that I'm on right now!
The Journey is a beautiful Blog site and you have great companions for the jounrey.....what a blessing....congrats on the SITS thing too!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite destination would always have to be coming home to my family.
ReplyDeleteThank you for asking.
I'm off to get to know you better!
:-)
Well, I have the chance to possibly go to Japan in 2009. I'm really really REALLY excited about that possibility!!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite destinations always include my family. I have an awesome husband, an almost two year old son and a baby on the way. Probably one of my favorite things to do together are snuggling in our bed as a family on a Saturday morning, talking and giggling until we are too hungry to laugh anymore.
ReplyDeleteMy hubby and I are on to the next stage of our lives...kids are getting more and more independent with one in junior high...We may actually start dating again! WooHoo.
ReplyDeleteHe is my best friend, so anywhere I go with him is fine!
It was nice visiting you today. I'm off to go see more about your journey.
Being that I'm a flight attendant, destinations are the name of my game. My favorite destination? Home. There is truly NO place like home.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being the blog of the day!
ReplyDeleteMy journies have taken me around the world (literally), but they always lead me back to friends and families.
One of my most memorable would be climbing Bukit Timah Mountain in Singapore. It is this crazy straight up, steps uneven hellish climb...especially when you are in your 30's, overweight and outta shape. But I pressed on...and as we were walking my pastor encouraged me with a "sermonette" and once I made it to the top the sense of success was overwhelming, but more importantly the "steps" in my life that God gives me were conquered!
I LOVE the look of your blog. It is SO pretty.
ReplyDeleteI always want to be with my family, especially my husband. Anywhere we are together is special.
Congrats on being today's SITS featured blogger.
WARNING - SAP AHEAD
ReplyDeleteWARNING - SAP AHEAD
My favorite journeys are ones that take me to MR. B.
Congrats on being the SITS featured blogger. I really have no journey or destination in mind but here in a year or so I'll be taking the journey into motherhood! (Which is terrifying!)
ReplyDeleteYay on your SITS day!!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby and I never thought we would make it to our 16 year wedding anniversary. This October will be just that. My destination is to make it another 16! That AND maybe a romantice cruise somewhere. LOL
Congrats on being featured today!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite destination is geographic - my honeymoon!!! We went to this island of Curacao and it was like heaven!
Congrats Sitsa mama! Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being the featured blog today! I think any journey we take with family is awesome, but I like a scrapping trip every year too! ;)

I am so excited to go check out your blog. You have already inspired me with your intro. Destinations? I have never travelled anywhere exotic. But I have always wanted to go to Greece/Italy. The history that is there intrigues me.
ReplyDeleteI have to comment again! I usually read the posts before I leave a comment, but for some reason I didn't today. Hmm...Oh well! I just had to say your kids are adorable, and I loved the comment about redirecting the complaints. Too cute. Thanks for sharing. have a fun SITS day.
ReplyDeletehappy SITS day! sometimes I feel like my journey is more going in circles than making progress, but our perception isn't always reality, is it? :) thx for sharing your blog w/us today!

ReplyDeleteHi again Tracy! I didn't know you were being featured in SITS today - I was just dropping by to visit and saw this post! (And then ran back to SITS to see that you really are the ONE today! Good for you!)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I love the Pacific Northwest! - the gardens of Butchart, the tulip farms of Mt Vernon, the incredible city of Seattle, the Oregon coast, the camping grounds of Idaho. Plenty of coniferous trees, blue, blue skies, wide spaces, gleaming bodies of water, snow-peaked mountains in the summer. I was just telling Jenni about how I am missing the NW!
Where I'd like to go next? Israel and Europe, definitely!!!
Back again! I feel like I'm having a little dejavu moment. How do you put those accents on those words anyway? I'm happy to be back at your blog again. I love it and all that you have to share. I blogged about one of my favorite places here http://7-7-7heavensent.blogspot.com/2008/08/friday-foto-finish-fiesta-hills-are.html I hope you'll check it out.

Love your Forrest Gump references!
ReplyDeleteComing by from Sits!
A journey I would love to take would be having a legal marriage to my partner of 8 years that is legal and recognized in all 50 states.
Physical journeys: I would love to see China, Africa, Greece as well as places like San Francisco.
I spent a college trimester in 1995in Melbourne Australia. That's my "happy place" when the boyz are screaming, the sink is full and the clothes are dirty!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite destination is wherever I can be with my family that I love so much, those by blood and those we've added along the way. Whether we are together physically or online it is always a joy and blessing.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your SITS day, I'm so glad I got to *meet* you.
I really enjoyed all of your posts and am adding you to my blog list so I can come back and read more when I have a little more time.
I just love SITS too and meeting so many diverse people. :)

ReplyDeleteLee :)

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your SITS feature. I hope that you are enjoying your day in the sun.
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed traveling to Kansas where my husband's family is from. Those have been some of my favorite family road trips.
Personally I'd love to go somewhere tropical. I live in northeastern Saskatchewan Canada and we have very long winters. The leaves are falling now and it always makes me wish for somewhere with white sand beaches and palm trees!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being the SITS featured blogger!
ReplyDeleteI have so many journey's to chose from. Since I have recently made a giant move from Tulsa, OK to Portland, OR I would say that was the most fun but at the end of the day I long for a journey home to my friends and family.
Happy SITS Day!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite journey was just a little over a year ago. PA to UT and back to PA with many stops along the way. This journey was accomplished in the CAR with my husband and our kids. We all got along (most of the time) and we made awesome memories.
My favorite destinations are the beach and HOME!!! I love to be home with my family.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your SITS day!
Congrats on your SITS day. Enjoyed reading your blog. Favorite destination... any place with my husband when we're together away from home.
ReplyDeleteHi and congrats on your stardom for a day! My journey is the one I have been on for the past 3 yrs from the UK to Okieland!
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS day! What a beautiful blog! I am looking forward to reading more!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite actual destination is either Jamaica, the Caymans, or Honduras. Somewhere warm and tropical and beautiful.
My favorite destination of relaxation is right here on my couch with a book or my laptop.
My favorite journey would be the one I took when I had my first daughter whom was born with Down Syndrome.
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS day!
This is the first time I've been to your blog...it's fun here! Off to look around...
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your special day today!! My family is going from two kids to three! Exciting journey!! And I am going back to school...I will have to say that my life is a construction zone right now :)
ReplyDeleteTonight my husband and I went to the county fair and then to the gospel singing. A fellow church member was there, a once-upon-a-time missionary who is now in her 90s. She talked and laughed and found joy in every song, even the ones where the singers were so off key it hurt my ears. :) This is despite the fact that her body is failing her and she can barely walk with a walker now. That's where I want to be - oh not today and not tomorrow, but someday. I want to reach the last days of my life filled with joy and laughter and sharing it with all those around me. blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteYou have a great blog and beautiful family (and garden). Thank you for sharing it with us. My destination, to figure out what I want to be when I grow up:)
