The Rockies

DSC_0211

If you asked someone what Colorado was famous for, they might very well say, the Rockies!
If you asked my son that, chances are he would be talking baseball. He most often is, after all.

If you know Ben, you realize you can't take him within a hundred miles of a major league stadium

and not take him to a game.

That would be torture.

No complaints from me, though.  I think stadiums are so much fun!

A unique feature of Coors Field is the statue in front, "The Player".

It is a tribute to a guy named Branch Rickey,
who is credited for bringing Jackie Robinson into the major leagues.

Thousands of people walking into each game get to read this quote from him:

"It is not the honor that you take with you,
but the heritage you leave behind."

The Rockies are not having their best year ever

but they got the job done that night!
